The announcement was made during the centenary book launch commemorating the church’s 100-year anniversary.

The event celebrated the founding of the church in 1925 by The Most Rev Josiah Olunowo Ositelu, with its global headquarters in Ogere Remo and thousands of branches across Nigeria and overseas.

During the ceremony, the Primate delivered a powerful tribute to Senator Daniel, highlighting his political and developmental contributions to Ogun State and his representation of Ogun East in the Senate.

He described the senator as a “steady and visionary leader” and praised his commitment to Christian unity.

Most Rev Dr Ositelu also acknowledged Senator Daniel’s role as the Asiwaju of Remo Christians and his enduring relationship with the church, noting the senator’s active participation in the annual Mount Tabor Prayer Festival.

The Primate recalled that Senator Daniel’s late father joined the church in the 1930s and pioneered several branches in Ibadan, Ifo, Idogo, Benin, Sapele, Port Harcourt, and even undertook missionary work in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

The endorsement was met with enthusiastic applause from worshippers and guests, many describing the moment as historic and symbolic.

The centenary celebration attracted prominent Christian leaders from across Nigeria, including Archbishop Olusina Fape, Rt Rev Emmanuel Adekunle, Rev Prof Deji Ayegboyin, Apostle Bankole Fabusoro, Rev Canon Prof Kalesanwo, and Dr Solomon Badejo, among others.
