The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, according to the programme released by the Anambra State Government.
The event will be preceded by an interdenominational service on March 15 at the International Convention Centre in Awka.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, said the command, working with other security agencies, had strengthened security advocacy, public sensitisation, and operational deployment across the state to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free inauguration.
Ikenga disclosed that the command recently received 100 newly trained and well-equipped officers who completed armed and combat training at the Police College in Oji River.
The officers will support personnel already stationed at key locations while patrols and intelligence gathering have been intensified before, during, and after the event.
“The officers will complement the strategically deployed personnel to critical locations, strengthen patrols, and enhance intelligence gathering to maintain law and order before, during, and after the inauguration ceremony,” the statement said.
The police also urged residents, stakeholders, and visitors expected to attend the ceremony to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security personnel.
According to the command, the reinforced security arrangement is designed to guarantee the safety of dignitaries and members of the public during the event.
