The announcement was made in a statement on Monday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, confirming Lawal’s inclusion in the presidential delegation departing Abuja on Tuesday.

During the visit, President Tinubu, the First Lady, and members of the entourage will be hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle.

The delegation will view a special exhibition of Royal Collection items related to Nigeria, followed by a State Banquet in their honour.

The state visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and explore collaboration in immigration, trade, investment, and cultural exchange.

High-level talks with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer are scheduled, culminating in the signing of Memoranda of Understanding on trade, investment, defence, and cultural cooperation.

President Tinubu will also serve as guest of honour at the Nigerian Modernism exhibition and engage with UK-based business leaders and members of the Nigerian diaspora.

Sulaiman Bala Idris noted that Governor Dauda Lawal’s presence provides strategic networking opportunities, opening significant prospects for investment and economic development in Zamfara State.

The presidential entourage includes Senate President Godswill Akpabio; Attorney General and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi; Ministers Dele Alake, Mohammed Idris, Bianca Ojukwu, Wale Edun, Jumoke Oduwole, Hannatu Musawa, and Bosun Tijani; Chief of Defence Staff Christopher Musa; National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu; and Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency Mohammed Mohammed.

Observers say the trip presents opportunities to enhance bilateral trade, cultural diplomacy, and investment prospects for both Nigeria and Zamfara State.
