Amida Calls for Unity and Purpose on Eid

Azeez Amida Eid unity national mindset message urges Nigerians to embrace discipline, unity and purpose for national transformation during Eid

Founder and President of Showtime and Vice President of the Nigerian Federation of American Football, Azeez Amida, has urged Nigerians to embrace discipline, unity, and a renewed national mindset in his Eid-el-Fitr reflection, delivering a strongly worded Azeez Amida Eid unity national mindset message.

Speaking in a statement marking the end of Ramadan, Amida said the holy month should be viewed not only as a period of fasting but also as a time of accountability and transformation that must extend beyond the celebrations of Eid.

He explained that the values of Ramadan, including restraint, sacrifice, and discipline, are essential foundations for national development, particularly within Nigeria’s sports ecosystem and broader governance structures.

“Ramadan teaches restraint, discipline, sacrifice, and accountability,” he said. “But the real question is what do we do with those values after today?”

Amida warned that Nigeria’s challenge is not a lack of talent but a lack of alignment and shared purpose among individuals and institutions, stressing that sustainable progress depends on unity of vision.

The Azeez Amida Eid unity national mindset message also highlighted sports as a powerful instrument for national cohesion, noting that collective participation in structured systems such as flag football can help bridge regional and social divides.

He further emphasised that meaningful progress cannot be achieved in isolation, adding that unity remains the cornerstone of both sporting success and national growth.

According to him, Eid should serve as a “reset” for Nigerians, particularly young people, to adopt a more intentional approach to life and development.

“This is not the end of a season it is a reset,” Amida stated. “A call to live with intention, to choose purpose over convenience, and to build something bigger than ourselves.”

He concluded by urging Nigerians to carry the discipline of Ramadan into everyday life, insisting that the real impact of Eid lies in long-term transformation rather than momentary celebration.
