Tyson Fury mocks Anthony Joshua’s fragile chin

Tyson Fury Anthony Joshua rivalry intensifies after Fury questioned Joshua’s durability following Daniel Dubois’ latest victory

Tyson Fury has questioned the punch resistance of Anthony Joshua, using Daniel Dubois’ recent stoppage victory over Fabio Wardley as the basis for a sharp assessment of his rival’s durability.

The comments came a day after Dubois retained the WBO heavyweight title with an 11th-round stoppage win over Wardley in Manchester on Saturday night.

Speaking in a video shared on Instagram, Fury said Dubois’ performances against several top heavyweight opponents exposed what he described as a concerning pattern involving Joshua.

“Well, I’ve just been sat here thinking after Dubois’ unbelievable fight last night,” Fury said.

“Dubois fought ‘Big Baby’ Miller, stopped him, but never put him down. Then he fought Hrgovic, stopped him, but never put him down.

He fought Wardley last night in an unbelievable fight, stopped him, and never put him down. He hit Usyk with some big bombs, never put him over.

“But yet he fights Anthony Joshua and pummels him to the floor five times. I’m not saying Anthony Joshua’s chinless, but they’re the facts. Take it as you wish and as you will.”

Fury added that none of Dubois’ other major opponents, including Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, Oleksandr Usyk and Wardley, had been floored despite absorbing heavy punches.

Dubois famously knocked Joshua down five times during their IBF heavyweight title clash in September 2024 before stopping the British-Nigerian fighter in the fifth round.

The brutal defeat remains one of the most damaging losses of Joshua’s professional career and continues to fuel debate over his ability to absorb punishment against elite heavyweight opposition.

The Tyson Fury Anthony Joshua rivalry is expected to finally culminate later this year after both fighters reportedly agreed contracts for a long-awaited all-British showdown.

The blockbuster bout is expected to take place during the fourth quarter of 2026, although the fight will only be formally confirmed if Joshua successfully comes through his scheduled warm-up contest against Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren have both indicated that the proposed Fury fight would likely collapse if Joshua suffers defeat against Prenga, who has won 20 of his 21 professional bouts, all by stoppage.

The latest remarks from Fury add another explosive chapter to one of British boxing’s fiercest rivalries as anticipation continues to build around a contest fans have awaited for years.
