The Lagos Chapter of the CityBoy Movement has commenced the distribution of congratulatory letters to All Progressives Congress candidates contesting various elective positions in the 2027 general elections across the state.

The pro-APC youth and grassroots mobilisation group said the exercise was part of its early engagement with the party’s flag bearers ahead of the elections.

In a directive issued by the State Director of the movement, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, Esq., the group said letters had been prepared for APC candidates contesting the offices of deputy governor, senator, House of Representatives and House of Assembly.

The letters are being channelled through CityBoy LG and LCDA coordinators for presentation to the respective candidates in their constituencies.

The movement said the gesture was intended to recognise the candidates who had emerged to fly the APC flag while strengthening unity, early engagement and strategic coordination ahead of the 2027 polls.

Ogunlewe directed state executives, LGA supervisors, LGA secretaries, LGA directors of mobilisation and LG/LCDA coordinators to work together to ensure the letters are presented promptly and in a dignified manner.

The coordinating teams have also been instructed to document each presentation with photographs and video clips and share the materials on the official CityBoy Lagos Group platform.

Acknowledged copies of the letters are expected to be returned to the CityBoy State Headquarters for documentation and record purposes.

The State Director said the distribution exercise must be completed on or before Friday, September 11, 2026.

According to him, meeting the deadline would allow the movement’s leadership to proceed with other strategic campaign activities and mobilisation plans already mapped out for the Lagos chapter.

“This is the first phase of our engagement with all our flag bearers. It sets the tone for deeper collaboration, grassroots penetration, and voter mobilization as we move toward 2027,” Ogunlewe said.

He urged members and other stakeholders to approach the assignment with seriousness and urgency.

The CityBoy Movement describes itself as a pro-APC youth and grassroots mobilisation platform focused on promoting the party’s ideals, supporting good governance, and encouraging voter education and participation.

Its Lagos chapter operates across the state’s 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas.

Ogunlewe, who leads the Lagos chapter, also serves as Zonal Director, Youth Mobilisation, South-West APC Presidential Campaign, according to the movement.

He thanked stakeholders for what he described as their “usual cooperation and dedication to the CityBoy Movement”, while urging members to maintain teamwork and discipline as political activities intensify ahead of 2027.

The letter presentation exercise is expected to serve as an initial point of contact between the movement and the APC candidates before the group begins its wider mobilisation activities across Lagos.
