Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship from the PFA Business School, graduating with Merit.
Awoniyi announced the achievement on Tuesday, describing it as another proud moment away from the football pitch.
The Nigerian international said the qualification reflected his belief that a professional football career should not prevent players from continuing their education and developing themselves beyond the pitch.
“I have always believed that being a footballer shouldn’t stop you from being a student of the game and education has become an important part of that journey for me,” Awoniyi said.
He expressed appreciation to the PFA Business School, its lecturers and fellow students who shared the academic experience with him.
The programme focuses on areas relevant to football leadership, administration, management and sporting strategy, providing professional players with opportunities to prepare for roles within the football industry beyond their playing careers. The PFA Business School’s qualifications are delivered with academic accreditation from the University of Portsmouth.
Awoniyi has previously pursued business-related education and described learning as an important part of his personal development. His latest qualification adds to his academic background while he continues his professional football career.
