President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has charged newly commissioned officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces to uphold the highest standards of discipline, patriotism and professionalism, telling them that the nation is depending on their service.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony of the new officers, the President said their graduation marked the beginning of a lifetime commitment to protecting Nigeria’s sovereignty and safeguarding its citizens.
“The nation is counting on you,” Tinubu told the officers, urging them to serve with courage, integrity and an unwavering sense of duty.
The President reminded the officers that the responsibilities of military leadership extend beyond the battlefield, stressing the importance of honour, sacrifice and respect for the Constitution in the discharge of their duties.
He assured the armed forces of his administration’s continued commitment to improving the welfare of military personnel through investments in modern equipment, training, operational capacity and better working conditions.
Tinubu also commended the families, instructors and commanders who contributed to the officers’ successful training, describing their support as essential to producing the next generation of military leaders.
The newly commissioned officers are expected to join various branches of the Armed Forces, where they will take up responsibilities in defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and supporting national security operations across the country.
