Streamer and content creator Carter Efe has revealed that singer Davido warned him to stop insulting fellow Afrobeats star Wizkid after his comments began creating the impression that he was acting on Davido’s behalf.

Speaking during an interview, Efe said Davido personally reached out to him and cautioned him against making further insulting remarks about Wizkid.

According to the streamer, Davido told him, “Don’t ever, don’t ever in your life insult him again. That people think that he’s the one sending me.”

Efe said he immediately apologised to Davido, responding, “I’m sorry daddy, I will never do it.”

When asked specifically whether Davido had ever cautioned him about insulting Wizkid, Efe confirmed that the singer had.

The revelation came while Efe was discussing the possibility of facing Wizkid in a celebrity boxing match.

Rather than describing it as a genuine fight, the streamer explained that he was interested in an entertainment bout involving celebrities.

“No, because it is a celebrity fight. He’s a celebrity too, well I’m a celebrity too. I want us to just be on the same ring together. Let’s just, let’s just, let’s just do the entertainment boxing,” he said.

When asked whether his issues with Wizkid had anything to do with Davido, Efe quickly responded, “No! No!” before recounting the warning he said he received from the singer.

Efe has previously been involved in Nigeria’s growing celebrity boxing scene. He defeated singer Portable by unanimous decision in May at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event in Lagos.

He is also scheduled to face rapper Speed Darlington in another celebrity boxing bout on October 1, 2026, at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos. The contest is part of the Chaos in the Ring series and is set to be streamed on DAZN.
