‘R.I.P’ Ibukun Orisun Iye Records boss, Primate Ola Kazim, is dead (Photo)

The legendary music marketer and foremost label owner, Primate M. Ola Kazim, is dead.

According to the information available to Freelanews, the 76year old founder of Ibukun Orisun Iye and Mut Mokson records, died on March 15, 2022.

Primate Kazim was reputed to be the backbone of many great musicians from the 70s to the 90s and had produced award winning songs for notable Nigerian musicians of yesteryears like King Sunny Ade’s Let Them Say, Good Women Choir C.A.C. Ibadan & District, Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Surulere Choir Lagos, Fabulous Olu Fajemirokun And His Standard Stars International’s E Get Cover (O Lomori O), C&S Church Movement (Ayo Ni O), Prince Adekunle And His Western State Brothers’ Se Rere Fun Mi, Expensive Olubi And His Golden Star Band, Oluremi & His Sakadelly Beats, and Louis Wasson.

His label also released albums for the duo of Segun Adewale and Sir Shina Peters under the band name of Sir Shina Adewale before they both went solo in 1980.

Primate Kazim was reportedly the younger brother of the Ijebu Igbo born socialite and industrialist, Alhaji Olanrewaju Kassim, the owner of SHOKAS textiles.
