Mohammed Nuhu, Vice Principal of JSS Yebu in Abuja’s Kwali Area Council, has been abducted.
Kidnappers using sophisticated guns invaded, according to a teacher who sought discretion.
Some of the kidnappers, he had claimed, surrounded the quarters, while others hopped on in through the fence into the complex and broke into his flat before taking him away.
He said the kidnappers bound the security guard stationed at the gate before pushing the victim’s door open.
“In fact, because to the random rifle shots, even some teachers who are still inside the quarters may not be able to come out,” he explained.
The incident occurred on Saturday night.
The vice principal’s kidnapping was confirmed by Comrade Stephen Knabayi, leader of the Nigeria Union Teachers (NUT) branch in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He added that the incident occurred a few days after the kidnapping of Abubakar Abdullahi Gbedako, the Chief Imam of Yabgoji Central Mosque and the vice principal of Junior Secondary School, Kwaita, which is still under Kwali local government.
Knabayi stated that the union has sent multiple emails to the FCT Administration and various local council chairmen to express its displeasure with the constant kidnapping of its members.
When contacted, spokesperson of the FCT police command, DSP Adeh Josephine, said she is currently in a meeting.
She promised to call our reporter back after the meeting but had not done so as of the time of this report.
