ADC political legacy will outlive 2027 elections, says Chairman David Mark as he unveils a people-first, future-focused vision at inaugural NWC meeting.
ADC political legacy is not bound by the 2027 general elections, but rather by a vision to build a political institution rooted in character, competence, courage and discipline, according to National Chairman Senator David Mark.

Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja on Tuesday, Mark declared that the party’s mission goes far beyond winning elections.
“We are in a marathon; we must compete and win. But our focus is not on power for its own sake. It is about building a lasting political legacy Nigerians will be proud to inherit,” he said.
Mark assured that ADC would stand as a party larger than any individual, guided by a fresh political blueprint centred on people-first principles, rule of law, and inclusive leadership.
The ADC political legacy will be shaped by a strong foundation, he added, promising annual audits, open structures, merit-driven leadership and a deep commitment to special interest groups, including women, youth, farmers, retirees, and persons with disabilities.
He described the party’s future direction as one marked by sacrifice, resilience, and courage, stating that true democratic change would face resistance, but ADC must press forward with integrity.
Outlining concrete plans, Mark revealed that ADC would:
- Review its constitution to reflect new values
- Create ward-to-national structures with trained personnel and digital registers
- Build a leadership academy focused on ethics and governance
- Field only candidates who meet the party’s four-pillar standard
On governance, he promised policies that will stabilise prices, enhance power supply, improve agricultural systems, and synchronise fiscal and monetary policy to drive productivity.

“Our task is to establish a movement that will deliver a positive and enduring impact. The ADC political legacy must be one the next generation can uphold with pride,” Mark said.
