ADC UK leadership visit Atiku Abubakar focuses on strengthening diaspora mobilisation and deepening party engagement
The leadership of the African Democratic Congress United Kingdom and Northern Ireland paid a courtesy visit to Atiku Abubakar GCON, former Vice President of Nigeria and ADC presidential aspirant, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen party mobilisation and engagement within the Nigerian diaspora.

The delegation was led by Honourable Segun Akinyemi, Chairman of ADC UK and Northern Ireland, and was accompanied by Prince Collins Enwere, Secretary of the chapter, and Honourable Bolanle Sarumi Alliyu, ADC governorship aspirant in Oyo State and former Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Diaspora Affairs.
Discussions during the ADC UK leadership visit to Atiku Abubakar centred on strategic approaches to deepen the party’s organisational growth, consolidate internal unity and expand political mobilisation among Nigerians living abroad.
Party officials described the engagement as a pivotal step in aligning diaspora structures with the ADC’s national political direction.
Although several senior members of the ADC UK leadership were unable to attend in person, goodwill messages were conveyed in support of the visit and its objectives.
Those represented included Professor Gold Emmanuel, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Lady Nikky Ibraheem, Women Leader, Shade Adegoke, Deputy Publicity Secretary, and Honourable Lukman Odumosu, Treasurer.
Participants said the discussions reflected a shared resolve to harness diaspora experience and networks as a powerful force in national political development.

The ADC UK and Northern Ireland leadership reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening diaspora participation and advancing the party’s vision for a better Nigeria.
