The association’s bold move to launch a structured learning academy aligns with expert recommendations and marks a defining step toward professional transformation.
At the ADVAN CMO Forum, Olufemi Williams, Founder of Newwaves Ecosystem Ltd. and former Group MD of Chams Plc., issued a powerful call to action.
He urged the industry to treat growth as its core mandate, governance as a protective framework, and generative AI as a catalyst for rapid advancement.
Williams emphasized the need for a system that would reframe marketers from being seen as mere cost centers to value-driving leaders in business growth.
In a direct and timely response, ADVAN President Osamede Uwubanmwen confirmed plans are already underway to establish a dedicated ADVAN marketing academy for continuous professional development.
He stressed that growth should be measured not just by numbers but also by genuine consumer satisfaction, and that governance should empower innovation rather than restrict it.
Further highlighting the association’s forward momentum, ADVAN CEO Ediri Ose-Edinle pointed to the earlier establishment of the Nigerian Marketing Development Team (NMDT).
Launched two years ago, the NMDT includes a blend of academic and industry professionals tasked with steering long-term transformation—mirroring the very ideas Williams proposed.
By building on the NMDT and launching the academy, ADVAN is sending a strong signal.
