AI election result technology to debut in Anambra aims to boost transparency and public trust by delivering real-time updates from polling units nationwide
AI election result technology is set to redefine Nigeria’s electoral landscape, as Soft Smart Enterprise Solutions announced the launch of an artificial intelligence-driven system that will deliver real-time election result updates during the upcoming Anambra State election on 8 November.

The Managing Director, Charles Yakubu, unveiled the innovation at a press briefing in Abuja, describing it as a powerful step toward greater transparency and public confidence in Nigeria’s democracy.
Yakubu explained that the AI election result technology leverages advanced image recognition and data analytics to capture and analyse polling unit result sheets, known as Form EC8A, with up to 95 per cent accuracy.
He said the system enables citizens to monitor live updates of election results similar to practices in countries like the United States and the United Kingdom as figures are uploaded from the Independent National Electoral Commission’s result portal.
“For the first time, we can achieve visible collation of results in real time,” Yakubu said. “As each polling unit uploads its results, the figures will automatically update, allowing citizens to see the progress as it happens.”
He added that the system archives all data for post-election verification and analysis, creating a digital footprint of the process.
The AI election result technology, according to Yakubu, can even predict likely outcomes once at least 40 per cent of polling unit results are uploaded, using historical voting patterns and statistical modelling.
“If a party maintains a consistent pattern across polling units, the system can forecast the likely winner before final collation.
This is how modern electoral analytics work globally,” he explained.
The system will be publicly demonstrated during the Anambra election, where live data from all 5,720 polling units will be displayed on an interactive digital scoreboard.
Yakubu described the project as “a historic moment for election transparency in Nigeria,” emphasising that it would help reduce post-election disputes and strengthen public trust.
“This is the future of credible elections no more doubts, no more disputes. Every Nigerian will be able to see results as they come in, transparently and in real time,” he added confidently.
