The Akwa Ibom State Police have apprehended six suspected kidnappers in a joint intelligence operation across different locations in Eket local government area
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Akwa Ibom State Police Command has announced the arrest of six suspected kidnappers following a joint intelligence-led operation in various locations within the Eket local government area of the state.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, confirmed the arrests in a statement released on Thursday.
The suspects apprehended have been identified as Oyibo Ayibakumo Brown (male, Bayelsa State), Wisdom Harry (male, Rivers State), Afanye Igonikon (male, Rivers State), Dare Olaniyi (male, Ogun State), and Tita Mercy Masume (female, Cameroon).
During the successful operation, authorities also recovered a gray and ash-colored Lexus RX 300 vehicle with registration number KMR 491 AE, which is suspected to have been used in kidnapping activities. Additionally, five mobile phones were seized from the suspects.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, has commended the vigilance and swift action of the police officers for a successful operation,” stated DSP Timfon John, the Command’s Public Relations Officer.
DSP John stated that the arrested individuals are believed to be connected to recent kidnapping incidents that have occurred within the Eket area and are currently undergoing intensive interrogation by the police.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, lauded the vigilance and swift response of the police officers involved in the operation, commending their efforts for the successful outcome.
