Amotekun murder arrest shocks Èsà Òkè community as police investigate killings and public outrage grows over alleged vigilante violence in Osun

Amotekun murder arrest has sent shockwaves through Èsà Òkè in Osun State, following reports that a young man linked to the state’s security network was apprehended over an alleged murder in the area.

Sources confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody earlier this week after residents alerted authorities to a violent incident that claimed a life.

Police say investigations are ongoing, and the suspect has reportedly made statements aiding the inquiry.

The development has intensified local tension, as it comes only days after two residents were allegedly killed during a confrontation involving members of the Amotekun Corps.

Eyewitnesses described the incident as “disturbing and avoidable,” urging authorities to ensure accountability.

Community leaders have appealed for calm while calling on the Osun State Government and the Amotekun Command to conduct an independent review of recent operations to prevent further escalation.

The Osun Amotekun Command has yet to issue an official statement on the incidents.

However, police officials have assured residents that justice will be pursued through due process and that all parties involved will face fair investigation.

Observers say the Amotekun murder arrest highlights the growing need for oversight in community policing structures and the importance of restoring public confidence in security operations.
