AMVCA 12th edition entries open: Filmmakers across Africa invited to submit films for the continent’s premier entertainment awards
Africa Magic, organisers of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), has officially opened submissions for the 12th edition of the continental film awards.

Filmmakers and content creators across Africa have been urged to submit their work for consideration.
The AMVCA, MultiChoice’s flagship initiative, is dedicated to recognising, celebrating, and rewarding exceptional African storytelling across film and television.
The 12th edition will spotlight the creativity, growth, and global potential of Africa’s entertainment industry while reinforcing AMVCA’s position as the continent’s most prestigious awards platform.
Building on its legacy of celebrating both established and emerging talent, the 12th AMVCA introduces expanded Indigenous Language categories, including Best Indigenous Language North Africa and Best Indigenous Language Central Africa.
This year’s awards ceremony will feature 32 categories, comprising 18 jury-decided awards, 11 audience-voted awards, and three special recognition prizes, including a Lifetime Achievement and a Trailblazer award.

The 12th AMVCA awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Lagos, Nigeria, in May 2026, bringing together Africa’s finest creatives to celebrate the continent’s diverse storytelling.
