[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) has officially christened the newly constructed Government House Mini City as “Light House Awka,” a name that directly aligns with Anambra State’s proud slogan, “Light of the Nation.”

This decision was reached during the 10th ANSEC meeting, which notably marked the third session to be held within the new government house complex on Monday, June 2, 2025.
According to the State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, the “Light House Awka” encompasses a sprawling array of modern facilities.
These include the newly built Government House and Lodge, the Deputy Governor’s building, the Governor’s Office, 24 other ancillary structures, a world-class amphitheatre, and an auditorium. The mini-city is accessed via an impressive eight-lane dualized road, aptly named Emeka Anyaoku Boulevard.
The transformative work undertaken by Governor Charles Soludo, including the construction of this new government house mini-city, has recently drawn high praise from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

President Tinubu commended Governor Soludo for his “impeccable and incredible leadership qualities” demonstrated through the infrastructure development and overall transformation of Anambra.
The President specifically applauded Governor Soludo for breaking a 34-year jinx in building the new government house mini-city.
Overwhelmed by what he witnessed, President Tinubu remarked, “Anambra is rising and we are ready to work with you.”
President Tinubu further asserted his high regard for Governor Soludo, noting that the innate ability to perform wonderfully resides within him.

The President affectionately referred to him as “Mr. Solution.” He also affirmed that Soludo’s excellent performance in governance demonstrates his progressive nature, and despite party differences, he appreciates achievers like Governor Soludo and the existing relationship between them.
