APC dissolves Enugu State executive committee, appoints seven-member caretaker committee to lead party affairs
The All Progressives Congress (APC) took decisive action on Thursday, dissolving its Enugu State Executive Committee amid an extensive review of the party’s status in the state.

This move was announced at the 179th National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, chaired by National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda.
A seven-member Caretaker Committee was appointed to manage the party’s activities in Enugu, with Dr. Ben Nwoye named as Chairman. The committee is set to be inaugurated on Friday, 10th October 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Abuja.
Other members include H.E. Mrs. Fidelia Njoeze, Comrade Peter Chime, Dr. (Mrs.) Oby Ajih, Dr. Chiedozie Nwafor, Engr. Emma Ekeh, and Rt. Hon. Eugene Odoh, who will serve as Secretary.
The NWC also cleared Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and Mrs. Atinuke Oluremi Omolayo as the valid aspirants for the APC Ekiti State Governorship Primary, while disqualifying Engr. Ojo Kayode and Mrs. Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi.
Other resolutions included the forthcoming inauguration of the APC National Reconciliation Committee led by Chief Bisi Akande, the imminent release of the timetable for nationwide party congresses, and the launch of public hearings by the APC Constitution Amendment Committee in October 2025.
Furthermore, the APC Anambra State Governorship National Campaign Council is also set to be inaugurated soon.
