APC Youth Parliament frees 59 inmates and supports 59 orphans in Bauchi to celebrate Vice President Shettima’s 59th birthday
APC Youth Parliament has freed 59 inmates from the Bauchi Correctional Centre and provided financial support to 59 orphans as part of activities marking Vice President Kashim Shettima’s 59th birthday.

The parliament’s chairman, Kabiru Kobi, said millions of naira were used to settle fines and compensations for the inmates, granting them freedom.
He added that orphans also received cash assistance, while medicines were donated to the correctional centre.
“This is our way of celebrating a leader who has always been committed to the people,” Kobi explained, praising Shettima as a visionary and patriotic leader whose humility and resilience inspire Nigerian youths.
He likened Shettima’s impact on the North-East to that of the late Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.
Other speakers, including Imam Umar Bauchi, emphasized the blessings of assisting orphans, while educationist Dr. Zuwaira Musa urged collective action to reduce the number of out-of-school children in the state.

One of the freed inmates, Bashir Ahmad, who was previously fined ₦30,000, expressed gratitude to the APC Youth Parliament and the Vice President, describing the gesture as life-changing.
