The former Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Ogun State, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, has again committed to serving the gateway state as a representative to the southwestern region of the country.
His ability to serve the people of Ogun State was again validated when he was named as a member on the board of the newly inaugurated O’dua Investment Limited by the South-West Governors’ Forum.
This was contained in a statement issued in Akure by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation in Ondo State, Mr Donald Ojogo, on behalf of the Chairman of the Forum, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Recall that the previous board was dissolved on April 16 by the six governors.
The governors said that the inauguration among others was the thrust of a virtual meeting held on May 7 by the six governors and presided over by Akeredolu.
Other members of the new board are Dr Lawrence Olusegun Aina (Osun) as Chairman, Mr Segun Olujobi (Ekiti), Dr Tola Kasali (Lagos), Chief Segun Ojo (Ondo) and Seeni Adio (Oyo).
The governors, who expressed confidence in the individual capabilities of the board members, said the choices were made after careful consideration of their wealth of experience, integrity, and deep knowledge of the business environment.
Odu’a Investment Company Limited was incorporated in Nigeria as a Limited Liability Company in July 1976 to take over the business interests of the former Western State of Nigeria now comprising Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Ekiti and Lagos states. Since inception, it had been operating as a conglomerate owning substantial investment in real estate, food and beverages industries, agriculture, manufacturing, financial services, hotel and catering, telecommunication as well as printing and publishing.
Ashiru, a native of the illustrious Ijebu-Ode community, is a titan of administrative and corporate management, having earned several noteworthy degrees including one in Marketing, Purchasing & Supply, and a Master’s in Strategic Management.
