Atletico Madrid Fan Permanently Banned for Throwing Objects

Atletico Madrid permanently banned a fan for throwing objects during a heated derby with Real Madrid. The club is working with police to identify others involved and reiterated its commitment to eradicating violence in football.

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]tletico Madrid announced on Monday that they had permanently banned a fan for throwing objects onto the field during their weekend derby draw with Real Madrid.

The incident occurred at Atletico’s Estadio Metropolitano, where play was halted for 15 minutes after fans hurled objects, including lighters, at Real Madrid players.

The heated derby ended 1-1, with Atletico salvaging a point thanks to a last-minute equaliser by Angel Correa. In a statement, Atletico Madrid confirmed their security team was cooperating with the police to identify other offenders. The club promised swift and permanent bans for anyone else involved.

Atletico emphasised their strong stance against violence and pledged to defend the values of sport. They assured fans that they would continue using all available resources to eliminate such behaviour from their matches.

In response to the incident, Atletico Madrid introduced a new regulation prohibiting the use of garments or elements that obscure fans’ faces within the stadium. This change aims to prevent individuals from hiding their identities during future events.
