The University confirmed that the student left campus without authorisation and failed to comply with established clearance protocols.
Contrary to the claims made by the student’s mother, Babcock University maintains that no neglect or complicity occurred.
The University had been actively collaborating with the Nigeria Police Force, campus security, and student groups to locate and ensure the safe return of Oladipupo, who has reportedly returned to his mother from a self-imposed absence in Akute, Ogun State.

“Reckless accusations do not align with the facts, and we urge the public to respect due process and institutional integrity.”
The University further revealed that the student’s conduct – including gambling, accumulating debts, and threatening fellow students – had caused concern among his peers.
We remain committed to nurturing responsible citizens and upholding our legacy as a citadel of excellence and character.
Reports also indicate that the student’s mother was aware of these issues and had even asked peers to withhold this information from University authorities, obstructing proper institutional protocols.
Oladipupo will appear before the Student Disciplinary Committee for fair hearing on alleged misconduct. Any other individuals implicated in the ongoing investigation will also face the appropriate internal panels.
Babcock University emphasised that it exercises a reasonable duty of care over students within its jurisdiction, but students – as young adults – are expected to uphold personal accountability and adhere to University rules.
The institution reaffirms its zero tolerance for misconduct and its right to seek legal redress over reputational damage caused by false public statements.
