The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in the last election in Lagos, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has slammed the former state chairman of his party, Kayode Salako, alleging that the latter suffers from bi-polar disorder.
Recall that Freelanews reports how Salako initially took on the LP candidate after he lost out to the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in the last election.
Salako released damning report, which alleged that GRV, as the candidate is fondly called, is a hypocrite, betrayal and tribal bigot. Read here.
“But, immediately he got the ticket, he started running things all alone with his endsars people.
“He sidelined almost all the Yorubas and prominent leaders and elders on the platform, and suddenly became purely Ibo inclined.
“Nothing Yoruba was ever attractive to him again.
“He stopped listening to me, or anybody in the party – Not even the elders and leaders I reported him to, on few occasions,” Salako submitted.
Three days after in his response, GRV accused the former chairman of having a medical condition which others use to manipulate him.
“I am very empathetic when it comes to mental health conditions and I do take it very seriously. As a result, I will not be responding to Kayode Salako because I know for a fact that he is Bi-Polar. Sadly, this condition is used by others to manipulate him for political gain. I wish him well and hope he gets the medical attention he needs,” the guber candidate lashed out.
On January 10, 2023, Salako announced his resignation to the Lagos LP as its chairman and handed over the party structure in the state to Dayo Ekong as the acting chairman.
In his handover speech at a Stakeholders’ meeting, Salako said he cannot be a mole in the political party he was contesting and that the party made him not the All Progressives Congress (APC).
