Freelanews reports that a reliable source who confirmed the appointment on Thursday said an official statement will be made available soon.
There are speculations that Akume’s appointment was to pacify the North Central zone ahead of the race for leadership of the National Assembly.
Akume, who is the President’s long-time ally, has demonstrated friendship with Tinubu by providing the desired support to nurture, shape and advance progressive politics in Nigeria.
He is an alumnus of the Nigerian premier university, the University of Ibadan.
In the same vein, President Tinubu has also announced the appointment of Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff, and Sen. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, a former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, as Deputy Chief of Staff.
