A man and woman have been arrested after a police officer caught them “carrying a suitcase with human remains inside” along a road.
The pair were arrested on suspicion of murder after police in Gloucestershire made the discovery at about 11.30pm on Wednesday.
Police said a woman, aged in her 20s and from Birmingham, and a man, in his 30s and from Wolverhampton, are in custody after “officers discovered suspected human remains” in the Forest of Dean area.
The A4136 has been sealed off between Monmouth and Coleford and officers are guarding the scene while forensic tests continue.
Reports claim a human torso was found inside the luggage and other body parts were found in the surrounding area, however this has not been confirmed by police.
