Chimamanda Adichie praises Peter Obi for his humility, integrity, and unwavering commitment to public service, emphasizing that he is not driven by ego or desperation for power.

In an interview on Amazing Africans aired on Channels Television, the award-winning author shared heartfelt views on Obi, reflecting on his character and leadership style since the 2023 elections.
“He doesn’t need to be president. He wants to be because he cares about Nigeria,” Adichie said, drawing a distinction between ambition and desperation.
She added that Obi’s values resonate deeply with many Nigerians, especially his consistency, humility, and accountability.
Adichie revealed that her admiration for Obi stems from knowing him for over 15 years, saying:
“He is one of the simplest men I have ever known. He is genuine and consistent.”
She applauded Obi for not viewing public service as a personal favour but as a responsibility to the people.
“Peter Obi is not someone who expects thanks for doing his job. He believes he’s accountable to the people,” she noted.
