Information reaching Freelanews has it that there has been little or no banking activity in Zenith Bank’s branches across the country over a fire outbreak at the bank’s data centre.

A data center is a facility that centralizes an organization’s IT operations and equipment for the purposes of storing, processing and disseminating data and applications. Because they house an organization’s most critical and proprietary assets, data centres are vital to the continuity of daily operations.
The bank, which boasts of operations in 8 countries, a bias for exceptional service delivery and a willingness to always listen to their customers, is still battling to ensure services are back to normal.
Although the bank confirmed the fire incident on its official Facebook page, but didn’t clarify the kind of storage facility affected.
Many customers are concerned about the unreliability of the bank as fears for their deposited funds were expressed.
One wrote: Why is this bank always like this, having problems all the time. I don’t know how I got to this country.

Godwin Emefiele was once the managing director of Zenith Bank in 2010, before former Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan appointed him the governor of the CBN in 2014.
Emefiele is currently battling his inappropriate handling of the now rested recent naira redesign that has driven many Nigerians into extreme poverty.
