Chief Dele Momodu and wife, Mobolaji, on Saturday October 3 were dubbed The Aare and Yeye Aare of Iwo Kingdom in the ancient town of Iwo, Osun State.
The historic celebration, which was full of culture and color and held on the palace grounds, began when The Aare and Yeye Aare came in great style.
HIM Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, Oluwo of Iwo Kingdom, Telu 1, blessed the new chiefs with royal prayers, which was one of the highlights of the celebration.
They were decked up in customary leaves, placed, and bestowed with all of the accoutrements that come with the prestigious titles.
A majestic celebration was hosted later at Dr. Niyi Oriolowo’s Royal Palace Resort, where a team of professionals had been formed to greet guests of the well-known media entrepreneur, affectionately known as Bob Dee, and his lovely wife.
The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba AbdulRasheed Akanbi, Prince Damola Aderemi, Dr. Reuben Abati, Prince Bisi Olatilo, and others remarked glowingly about Aare Momodu and gave reasons for deserving the title during the reception.
Laolu Gbenjo, Sir Shina Peters, and Lanre Teriba entertained the visitors while they dined on Friends Catering and Bluetooth Catering’s cuisine.
Laredo provided finger food, Bola Okolie’s Bonix provided choice drinks and wine, and Dee Potters provided cocktails.
While Lanre Obey’s Lansrock did lighting and sound, Bolaji Durojaiye handled stage and screen, Kingsley James’ IDCL handled the venue branding, Tokunbo Odebunmi’s Wow Booth handled instant pictures and Seyi Orolugbagbe handled logistics.
The security aspect of the event was handled by Kunle Komolafe’s outfit, K-Square Multidimensional Limited. And while ace comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka The First was the Master of Ceremony, entertainment guru, Wale Oluwaleimu was the production co-ordinator.
The event was handled by Bimbo Oladiran of Subtle Elegance.
The event was attended prominent dignitaries like Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, Senator Jide Omoworare, Senator Ademola Adeleke, AIG Tunji Alapini ( Rtd), Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi, Sat Guru Maharaji, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, Oba Folarin Ogunsanwo, Iyalaje Oodua Toyin Kolade, Femi Osibona, Gbenga Olunloyo, Foluso Adeagbo, The Orolugbagbes, Bisi Olatilo, Princess Kemi Aderemi, Kikelomo, Azuh Arinze, Saheed Osupa, Dolapo Badmus, Taibat Okesanjo, Kikelomo Atanda-Owo, among many others.
