The Yobe State Government via the COVID-19 Committee on Prevention and Control has directed civil servants on grade levels 1-12 to resume normal working hours from Monday, August 17th, 2020.

The Committee Chairman, Idi Barde Guban said the directive was part of Committee’s resolutions reached after its 15th meeting on Wednesday

He said, “Civil servants on grade levels 1-12 are hereby directed to resume normal working hours with effect from Monday, August 17th, 2020.

“Heads of MDAs are directed to put in place and ensure full observance of COVID-19 protocols”.

The Committee also directed banks, markets and other private organizations to ensure social distancing and other safety protocols are observed in their offices.

“Citizens are reminded that wearing of face masks in public places is mandatory and should be strictly observed, while statewide curfew hours remain from 10pm to 4am”, he said.

Gubana reemphasized that the COVID-19 pandemic is not yet over and that the disease is real, hence prevention and control remained paramount through observing social distancing, proper wearing of face masks as well as good respiratory etiquettes and early access to healthcare facilities whenever one is ill.
