Scheduled for Saturday, 20 December 2025, the initiative is designed to promote healthy living, tourism, and youth engagement while showcasing Kano’s cultural and economic vibrancy.

The event, which will kick off from Sani Abacha Stadium, is expected to attract professional cyclists, fitness lovers, and families from across Nigeria.

With the theme “Health and Wellness,” Cycling Kano 2025 is more than a race — it’s a statement on the importance of physical and mental well-being.

Cycling Kano 2025 is an initiative of the Kano State Government in collaboration with BrandEscort Communications, a leading brand and event marketing company.

Speaking ahead of the event, Sani Musa Danja, Special Adviser for Youth and Sports Development, described the annual race as a platform to encourage regular exercise and community bonding among youths, professionals, and corporate bodies.

“This event promotes healthy competition, helps discover new cycling talent, and raises the profile of cycling as a mainstream sport in Nigeria,” Danja noted.

He emphasised that the Ministry of Youth and Sports will coordinate logistics, secure the race route, and ensure funding and stakeholder alignment for a smooth and impactful event.

The event is also positioned as a golden opportunity for corporate sponsors to align with values of public health and social development.

“Corporate participation underscores a brand’s commitment to wellness, youth empowerment, and community growth,” Danja added.

Bamidele Adeleye, Managing Director of BrandEscort Communications, praised the state government’s visionary support.

“This partnership exemplifies how public-private collaborations can drive innovation in the sports sector. Cycling Kano 2025 will create real economic and social impact while amplifying Kano’s status as a tourism and investment hub,” he said.

Event highlights will include a Mini Tour of Kano, amateur and professional cycling races, fun rides for families, cultural showcases, and a trade exhibition featuring local businesses.

Thousands are expected to attend, cementing Kano’s role as a dynamic gateway to Northern Nigeria.
