The executive chairman of Ijebu East local government, Wale Adedayo, has reacted to the plans of some of his councillors to impeach him.

Recall that Freelanews reports how six of his councillors and police personnel were drafted to ensure his removal from office.

His sin, as widely reported in the media, was for dating to demand accountability from the Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, over local government allocations in his care since his inception in office.

“Invading the peaceful Ogbere community with mobile policemen in order to impeach Wale Adedayo is desperation.

“Like I informed the SSG yesterday, we took an oath with our fathers that we will make this land better than we met it. You can kill the body, but not the spirit of Wale Adedayo,” he wrote on his social media handle.
