Speaking to Boxing News, Price described the matchup as a “win-win” for Joshua. He acknowledged that while Joshua’s previous loss to Dubois could typically rule out a rematch, the circumstances of their first fight make it a compelling reason to face off again.
“The rematch is the no-brainer,” Price stated. “It’s a win-win for Joshua because you can go in and win the fight and right the wrong, or he can go in and lose again.
Nothing changes; he’s still where he is.” He highlighted Dubois’s impressive confidence and power, suggesting that even if Joshua were to lose again, his future options would remain intact, including potential bouts against top fighters like Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang, or Tyson Fury.
Last month, Joshua faced a shocking defeat against Dubois at Wembley Stadium, where he was dropped multiple times before succumbing to a decisive right-hand punch in the fifth round. The defeat raised questions about Joshua’s career trajectory, but he has vowed to continue boxing.
Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that the rematch will be part of Riyadh Season, a festival featuring various entertainment and sports events running from October to early March.
