Dangote Group joins the 2025 Kano trade fair with major product unveilings and SME support, reinforcing its commitment to commerce and food security

The Dangote Group has confirmed its full participation in the 2025 Kano International trade fair, describing the annual exhibition as a crucial platform for strengthening commerce and widening investment opportunities across Nigeria and beyond.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Group Chief Branding and Communication Officer, Anthony Chiejina, said the company will not only sponsor but actively engage in this year’s fair, scheduled to run from 22 November to 6 December.

He stated that more than a thousand exhibitors from within and outside the country are expected to attend.

Chiejina noted that Kano occupies a central place in the company’s operations, describing it as the heartbeat of commerce in Africa.

He disclosed that the city is home to one of the firm’s large-scale rice mills currently under development, with similar plants underway in Jigawa, Zamfara, Niger, Kebbi and Sokoto.

Together, these facilities will deliver a combined milling capacity of 1.5 million tonnes per year, a move he said will support Nigeria’s food security ambitions.

He added that the company’s subsidiaries will set up dedicated help desks at the fair to engage visitors seeking partnerships or product information.

As part of its evolving response to market demand, the Group will also unveil new sugar pack sizes of 100 grams and 25 kilograms on its designated Special Day at the event.

Chiejina said the theme for this year’s trade fair, Empowering SMEs for Sustainable Growth, aligns strongly with Dangote’s long-term vision for national development.

Also quoted in the statement, Senior Adviser on Special Projects and Strategic Relations to the Group President,

Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, said the company’s sponsorship reflects its commitment to enabling micro, small and medium enterprises to thrive.

She added that the fair provides entrepreneurs with a timely opportunity to showcase products, build networks and expand market access, all of which contribute to broader economic growth.

President of the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Hassan Darma, said organisers are expecting about 100 organisations and more than 1,000 exhibitors from both Nigeria and overseas.

He described this year’s edition as unique due to major improvements and new structures at the fairground.

Darma added that the Dangote Group remains one of the fair’s most valued sponsors, noting that the Chamber aims to deepen collaboration with the conglomerate on SME development, backward integration and industrial skills transfer.

He said the long-standing relationship between both institutions is central to the continued success of the Kano Trade Fair.
