Davido DNA controversy escalates as singer denies paternity claims, confirming five separate DNA tests showed negative results
Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has addressed the viral DNA controversy involving a young woman, Anu Adeleke, who publicly appealed for a paternity test to confirm her father.

The statement came on Thursday, 15 January 2026, following widespread social media attention.
The controversy began when a video surfaced online showing Anu tearfully urging the singer to agree to a DNA test.
The clip quickly went viral, drawing reactions from Nigerians and social media users who repeatedly tagged Davido, demanding a response.
After hours of online pressure, Davido spoke out on his X account, confirming that multiple DNA tests had already been conducted.
“After 5 DNA test … she dey crase .. her and her mom better leave me the fuck alone and go find her papa …” the singer wrote.
Responding to queries about whether he had a personal relationship with Anu’s mother, Davido denied any interaction outside the DNA testing process.
“Never met the bitch … except when went For the DNA … very stupid behavior I will soon treat their FK … 5 fucking hospitals just to be clear .. the mom needs to go to jail … I don’t blame the poor girl ..” he tweeted.
Davido revealed that the DNA tests were carried out across five separate hospitals, with both parties selecting centres to ensure transparency.
“Yes I chose 3 hospitals and they chose their own two hospitals .. all came out Negative .. this is the last time I’m speaking on this nonsense,” he added.
