The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reemerged on X with a bold statement after weeks of absence.
The agency, known for investigating financial crimes such as advance fee fraud and money laundering, had its handle disappear from the platform, sparking rumours of a hacking incident.
However, the EFCC dismissed these claims, explaining that the handle’s disappearance was due to internal restructuring.
In its grand return, the EFCC posted a photo with a caption saying, “There are some birds you cannot keep down. 🦅✌️,” accompanied by an eagle emoji, symbolising resilience and strength. The photo is a painting of an eagle with a drag net in its claws containing criminals while others were seen running helter skelter.
This comeback has been met with a mix of relief and curiosity among Nigerians, who are keen to see the agency’s next moves in its anti-corruption efforts.
The EFCC’s return to X marks the end of speculation and reinforces its commitment to transparency and accountability in the digital space.
