The state’s beautification project began at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, where modern security cameras and art murals have replaced barriers.
These murals display Enugu’s cultural heritage, welcoming visitors with visual representations of landmarks. The first phase includes upgrading 13 roundabouts with flowers and enhancing parks.
Major projects underway include an international conference centre, a 5-star hotel, and a 300-bed hospital for medical tourism. These developments aim to place Enugu on the global tourism map.
Additionally, five recreation parks, including Edward Nnaji Park, are being developed. These parks will feature state-of-the-art amusements, sports courts, and kiddies’ recreation areas.
Dame Mbah also noted that preparations for the annual Unity Christmas Park are in full swing, with over 30 local welders working on metal fabrications. This year’s Christmas festivities promise to be grand.
