Jigawa State governor Malam Umar Namadi has called on journalists to support his government by following the ethics of their profession in reporting his government and other happenings in the state.

The governor made the call when members of the state Correspondent Chapel paid him a courtesy visit at Dutse Government House.
Malam Namadi stated that, journalists are key stakeholders in promoting good governance, delivering effective public service, peace, unity and progress of any government and society.
“ Our request to you are to always try to be objective and balance in your reportage, to put Jigawa corporate existence, peace and progress above any interest, to join your hand in our quest for building a prosperous and Greater Jigawa.
“ Please report us accordingly, but avoid writing any unbalanced report, because if you write unbalance story you cannot sleep as your conscious will not allow you for doing wrong job,” Governor Namadi stated.
In his speech during the visit, the chairman of the Correspondent Chapel, Comrade Muhammad Zangina said, the members of the union were at Government House to congratulate the governor on his inauguration into office.
Comrade Zangina told the governor that journalists in the state would join hands with the government to promote peace, unity and progress in the state.
