Gov’t pacifies Hausa, Yoruba traders after Olomore market riot

Peace has returned to Olomore market and vehicular movement has also resumed after hours of protest against the shooting of traders by SARS.

The Transition Committee Chairman, Abeokuta North, Prince Tunde Tella, on Thursday pacified Hausa and Yoruba traders who were protesting against the shooting of the 3 traders by Men of Special anti Robbery squad.

SARS officials, according to the traders chased some yahoo suspects who escaped through the market.

The SARS men mistakenly fired some bullets which injured 3 Hausas, who have now been rushed to the hospital.

The traders then blocked the Lagos express-road, they protested and made burnfires.

Prince Tella quickly rushed to the scene and pacified the protesting traders.

He also advised the security men of Nigeria police led by Area commander to carefully handle the issues with care.
