Scheduled for January 19th and 20th, 2024, at the GTCO Training Complex, Abeokuta, Ogun State, the event aims to provide a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to showcase their creativity and problem-solving skills.

The Take on Squad Hackathon 1.0 targets young innovators from universities and tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Participants will be challenged to create innovative solutions addressing problems within their local communities and broader society. The event aims to equip participants with transformative technological capabilities, offering them an opportunity to refine their coding skills and collaborate on practical, innovative tech solutions.

The two-day event will feature intense coding sessions on the first day, followed by product demos, panel discussions, and the announcement of winners on the second day.

The winning team will receive N2.5 million, with N1.5 million for the first runner-up and N1 million for the third-placed team.

Additionally, the top three teams will have the chance to join the Squad Hackademy, where they will receive mentorship and access to internships and job opportunities facilitated by Squad.

Eduofon Japhet, Managing Director of HabariPay Ltd, expressed the company’s belief in the power of young minds to drive positive change. He stated, “The Take on Squad Hackathon is the first of many initiatives to offer young, enterprising students a platform to engage meaningfully with technology and showcase their creativity and problem-solving abilities.”

Registration for the Take on Squad Hackathon 1.0 is ongoing, with interested teams (up to 4 members per team) encouraged to apply at https://squadco.com/hackathon/.
