The Chairman, Senate Committee on Local Contents, Teslim Folarin, has said that Oyo State has become a theatre of violence, killings, kidnapping and all sorts of crimes.

Folarin, who represents Oyo Central District, said this during a visit to the family of the slain graduate of Lead City University, Ibadan, Mr. Rahman Azeez, who was killed on Wednesday.

Our correspondent recalls that Azeez was on Wednesday killed during a fight that occurred between members of the Oyo State Park Management System and some mobile phone sellers in the Iwo Road area of the state capital, Ibadan.

Folarin, while speaking at the Gbagi Ibadan residence of the deceased, insisted that the state is gradually becoming a theatre of violence characterised by killings, kidnapping.

He added that no day passes without breakdown of law and order in the state since Governor Seyi Makinde came to power in 2019.

Folarin also condemned the spate of violence at Oremeji-Agugu and some parts of the state. He however urged the state Police command to investigate cases of violence in the state. He advised that all perpetrators must be brought to book. He prayed to Almighty Allah to give the family of the deceased fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Folarin who spoke further, maintained that it is sad that Makinde has taken Oyo State back to Egypt.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, added that the immediate past Governor of the State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi bequeathed peace and security to the Makinde-led administration but things have turned upside-down under Makinde.

Folarin said, “Gov. Ajimobi bequeathed peace and security to Governor Makinde-led administration but things have turned upside-down.

“No day passes without breakdown of law and order.

“Oyo State has become a theatre of violence, killings, kidnapping and all sorts of crimes.

“The latest killings at Oremeji-Agugu and Iwo Road must be investigated by the Nigeria Police with a view to bringing perpetrators to book.”
