ICPC spokesman Demola Bakare confirmed Ngige’s appearance at the commission’s headquarters as part of an ongoing investigation. However, he did not provide specific details about the allegations but noted that the former minister may be invited for further questioning until the investigation concludes.
Ngige, a former governor of Anambra State, was not detained during his visit to the ICPC on Wednesday. This inquiry follows previous invitations issued to top officials of the NSITF, including questions about a ₦47 million gratuity paid to the former Managing Director, Maureen Allagoa, while she was still in active service.
