From captivating high-profile events to addressing the realities of Nigeria’s music scene, Imanse is proving once again that her voice matters; both in sound and in substance.
The classically elegant singer stunned guests at the recent Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce 65th anniversary and presidential inauguration gala dinner held at the prestigious Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island.
Her flawless rendition of both the Nigerian and American national anthems moved an audience of governors, ministers, senators, dignitaries, and expatriates.
Following the event, Imanse appeared on CTV Morning Brief, where she discussed her creative direction, motivation, and what to expect next in her music journey.
Acknowledging the ups and downs of her career, Imanse revealed she is set to release multiple EPs in 2025, including her viral hit Never In My Life (NIML) and Jeje, a tribute to the late MohBad.
“We’re good investments — with the right strategy and backing, we can soar.”
“I write songs that mirror real life — my own or that of others,” said Imanse.
“Even if it’s fun or vibes, there’s always a message. That’s what keeps me going.”
Imanse also opened up about the gender imbalance in the industry, stating that funding and investor backing remain significant hurdles for female artistes. She cited Tems as a powerful example of what is possible with the right support.
“We need investors to bet on female artistes,” she said. “We’re good investments — with the right strategy and backing, we can soar.”
After going off the radar in 2024 due to burnout and betrayal while trying to help a younger artiste, Imanse admitted that taking a break brought clarity and new energy.
“2024 was a ‘step-back’ year. I took time off, travelled, and reflected. That silence became fuel for a stronger 2025,” she explained.

As part of her 2025 comeback, Imanse is not only dropping new music but is also advocating for better industry structures, especially for women.
She urges artistes to take control of their branding and visibility.
“Gone are the days of being discovered under a bridge. These days, scouts look for artists who are already pushing themselves. So do the work, build your brand — and the doors will open.”
