Iyana Isolo tanker fire disrupts traffic on Apapa–Oshodi Expressway as Lagos Fire Service battles blaze. Motorists urged to avoid the area

Iyana Isolo Tanker Fire caused chaos today after a diesel-loaded tanker overturned and caught fire on the busy Apapa–Oshodi Expressway.

The incident led to massive traffic disruptions as emergency services raced to the scene.

The Lagos State Fire Service is currently battling the flames, working to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures and vehicles. Authorities have also cordoned off the affected area.

Motorists and residents are being strongly advised to steer clear of Iyana Isolo while firefighters and first responders work to contain the situation.

Witnesses reported heavy smoke billowing into the sky, visible from several kilometres away, creating panic among commuters.

Officials have yet to confirm casualties, but early reports suggest the fire is limited to the tanker, thanks to the swift intervention of fire crews.
