The registration, originally scheduled to begin on Friday, 31st January, was delayed to allow for crucial adjustments to its registration procedures.
JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, made the announcement on Friday via the Board’s official X handle.
He stated that the decision followed recent developments concerning law programmes in some universities and the discovery of irregularities in certain Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.
“These adjustments come in light of the recent suspension of certain law programmes at selected universities, as submitted to the Board by the Council for Legal Education,” the statement read.
The Board emphasised that the changes were necessary to ensure compliance with the latest academic and regulatory requirements.
Additionally, JAMB identified that some CBT centres had used deceptive facilities to secure approval, prompting further scrutiny.
“The Board discovered that some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres had used deceptive facilities to gain approval, prompting the need for further scrutiny and corrections by disapproving such centres,” the statement continued.
While acknowledging the potential inconvenience to candidates and stakeholders, JAMB apologised for the disruption.
“The Board acknowledges the disruption this may cause to candidates and other stakeholders and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience,” it stated.
