The sudden death of Dele Gold as he was popularly known has left fans and fellow musicians in shock.
Alayo Melody, a close colleague, expressed his grief on social media, stating, “Dele Gold died? Ahhh, this is getting too much! May God help us put an end to untimely deaths. Dele Agbeyo, may your soul rest well.”
Dele Gold’s passing comes shortly after the death of another rising gospel star, Aduke Ajayi, also known as Aduke Gold.
These back-to-back losses have deeply affected gospel music lovers in Nigeria, marking a sombre period for the industry.
In an interview before his untimely passing, Dele Gold revealed that his music career was divinely inspired.
Initially indifferent to music, he said a series of dreams, where he found himself composing and singing, led him to believe that his calling was in music.
