Chiwendu murder shocks Nigeria as suspect remains in Kirikiri, posting videos online. Family urges authorities to act swiftly and deliver justice

Ediri Igbudu Melvin, who has been accused for the murder of his best friend’s sister, Eke Chiwendu, is seen posting videos of enjoying in detention, the deceased’s sister alleged in a video that had gone viral online.

Reports indicate that Melvin dismembered Chiwendu’s body, withdrew all funds from her bank account, and stole her phone.

Her family, who now have to deal double loses due to Chiwendu’s death which also led to their mother’s sudden demise when she heard the tragic news, is now seeking for justic to be served.

Melvin remains in Kirikiri prison, yet has reportedly been posting videos online, fuelling anger and disbelief among the public.

The family is calling for urgent legal action, demanding that he is tried swiftly and justice served.

Authorities are under increasing pressure to ensure that the suspect faces the full weight of the law.

Meanwhile, Nigerians are expressing solidarity with Chiwendu’s family, highlighting the need for justice and stronger protections against such heinous acts.
