Recall that Tinubu and his vice president-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, were honoured as Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic and Grand Commander of the order of Niger respectively by the outgoing president, Muhammadu Buhari, during the handover of the transition documents to the head of the incoming administration.
In his reaction, Sanwo-Olu revealed that the country is about to witness a new dawn as Tinubu officially takes over reigns of leadership on the 29th of May, 2023.
“It was a historic moment in our dear country as we witnessed the investiture of National honours, and the handover of transition documents from the out going President of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari to the incoming President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).
“The President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was conferred with the National Honour of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR), and in the same vein, the Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima (GCON) was conferred with the National Honour of the Grand Commander of the order of Niger.
“Hearty congratulations to the President- elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he was handed the baton of leadership during the event.
“Nigeria is set to witness a new dawn as he will be officially sworn in on May 29th,” Sanwo-Olu wrote.
