Lagos PR expert Kayode Akinyemi announces the passing of his mother, Mrs Victoria Akinyemi, a respected community leader and church figure in Ekiti
Lagos PR consultant mourns mother following the peaceful passing of Mrs Victoria Oja Bodunde Akinyemi in the early hours of Friday, 14 June 2026.

Her son, Kayode Akinyemi, a respected public relations strategist and former Head of Corporate Communications at the defunct Skye Bank, confirmed the news.
Akinyemi, who also served as the Director General of Ekiti State Bureau of Strategic Communications, described his late mother as “a light in her community whose devotion to faith and people was unwavering.”
Mrs Akinyemi was 85.
She was a devout Christian and a lifelong member of Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Iyanu, Afao Ekiti.
She held a leading role within the church’s women’s fellowship and actively sang in the choir for many years. Her dedication to worship and community life earned her the title of Iya Egbe (Chairlady) of Egbe Igbotoluwa in Afao Ekiti.
As a compassionate leader, she was known for supporting those in need and encouraging unity among families in her hometown.
She is survived by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In the words of her son, “She lived with grace and passed in peace. Her legacy of service, song and faith will endure in the hearts of all she touched.”

Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced in due course.
